An exciting collaboration has emerged in the field of aquatic incident management as Deep Trekker demonstrates how integrating diverse technologies can significantly improve search and recovery operations. Recently, the company hosted a training program, emphasizing the synergistic use of aerial drones, side scan sonar, and Deep Trekker ROV systems to streamline response efforts in aquatic emergencies.

Carter Sinclair, Senior Account Executive at Deep Trekker, shared insights on the progress being made within the industry: “Over the years, we’ve noticed a disconnect among various technologies utilized by these teams. While many employ aerial drones for oversight and side scan sonar for extensive mapping, we’re seeing an increasing number of teams adopting Deep Trekker’s ROVs into their search operations,” said Sinclair.

To enhance the training program, Deep Trekker partnered with industry veterans Shane Seagroves and Scot Brooks, both of whom bring decades of experience in aquatic incident and emergency management. “Our goal was to fuse existing technology with best practices in a way that significantly elevates the efficiency of search and recovery operations,” Sinclair explained. “We received a fantastic response from attendees, and the interaction between experienced agencies and newer teams allowed for remarkable knowledge exchange,” Sinclair noted. This blend of backgrounds enabled participants to share practical insights, thereby enriching the collective learning experience.

The feedback we’ve gathered will help us refine and expand future training events into new geographies,” Sinclair confirmed.
