January 10, 2024 – DJI, the world-renowned leader in civil drone technology and creative camera solutions, has taken a significant step forward in the field of aerial delivery with the introduction of the DJI FlyCart 30 (FC30). This innovative delivery drone is designed to address traditional transportation obstacles, offering an impressive payload capacity, extended operational range, and robust reliability. Whether it’s supporting mountainous logistics, offshore supply routes, or emergency rescue operations, the FlyCart 30 promises efficiency and flexibility in various delivery scenarios.
“From agriculture to construction management and surveying, DJI’s industrial drones have redefined the way industries operate, enhancing worker safety and business productivity,” said Christina Zhang, Senior Director of Corporate Strategy at DJI. “We believe the FlyCart 30 will emerge as a reliable solution for aerial delivery, tackling complex terrain and terminal transport challenges effectively, economically, and primarily, safely.”
Exceptional Performance and Range
The FC30 is built on a coaxial four-axis, eight-blade configuration featuring carbon fiber propellers, enabling a maximum flight speed of 20 m/s. In its dual-battery setup, it can effortlessly transport a 30 kg payload over a distance of 16 km. For emergencies, the single-battery configuration allows for a payload capacity of up to 40 kg over 8 km. The drone is equipped with DJI’s O3 transmission technology, enabling a stable connection with remote controllers up to 20 km away, while the Dual Operator mode allows seamless control transitions between pilots across different locations.
Designed for Diverse Environments
The FlyCart 30 has been engineered to excel in a variety of environmental conditions. It features an IP55 rating for protection against dust and water, allowing operation in temperatures ranging from -20° to 45° C (-4° to 122° F) and capable of flying in winds up to 12 m/s. Furthermore, standard propellers are optimized for altitudes of 0-6,000 m and can support flights up to 3,000 m while carrying a 30 kg payload. Self-heating batteries also ensure reliable performance in colder climates.
Safety First
Safety remains a top priority for DJI, and the FC30 incorporates built-in redundancies and advanced safety features. Prior to takeoff, the drone assesses the flight route based on surrounding environmental conditions and uses audio-visual cues to ensure a secure launch. Throughout the flight, dual-phase radar and binocular vision systems conduct all-weather multidirectional obstacle sensing, guaranteeing operational safety day or night. The FC30 is also equipped with an ADS-B signal receiver to alert operators to nearby manned aircraft. In crisis situations, an integrated parachute can deploy at lower altitudes, allowing for a stable landing that protects both the drone and surrounding property.
Versatile Configurations for Optimal Delivery
The FC30’s design incorporates flexibility for various transport scenarios. It can be easily folded for transport in standard-sized vehicles. In Cargo mode, payloads are secured within a 70-liter case equipped with sensors to enhance weight and center-of-gravity management. For unreachable landing zones, the Winch mode enables payload delivery via a winch crane, using a retractable 20m cable that can carry up to 40 kg. Enhanced with AR Projection capabilities for accurate delivery placement, the FC30 adjusts its flight attitude intelligently to reduce cargo swinging during transit.
Comprehensive Software Integration
The DJI DeliveryHub software ecosystem further streamlines the aerial delivery process, enabling efficient operations through planning, status monitoring, resource management, and data analysis. The system supports live viewing features through the drone’s high-resolution FPV gimbal camera and is powered by DJI Pilot 2, which facilitates manual flights while displaying real-time operational status and cargo information. In challenging conditions, DJI Pilot 2 provides alerts of potential risks and assists in managing alternative landing sites. Moreover, the FC30 and DeliveryHub integration allows for compatibility with external cloud platforms and payloads, catering to specific industry needs.
